It is a legitimate app made by TikTok and sold by TIKTOK PTE. LTD., with 4.9 stars from 134,789 App Store ratings, 4.7 stars from about 486,000 Google Play ratings and more than 50 million Android downloads. It is a streaming app rather than an earning app: the official listings talk about coins that unlock episodes, not cash.

What is the PineDrama app?
PineDrama is TikTok's official app for micro-dramas: serialized stories told in vertical episodes that its App Store listing puts at about 1 to 3 minutes each. You swipe through a feed the way you would on TikTok, except every clip is the next episode of a story, from billionaire and CEO romance to revenge, werewolf and family drama. You can sign in with your TikTok account to keep your progress, and when a short-drama clip goes viral on TikTok, PineDrama is where the full series lives. The app first appeared on Google Play on 14 December 2025 and on the App Store on 23 December 2025, and TechCrunch reported its quiet launch in the US and Brazil on 16 January 2026.
The App Store lists 48 languages for the app, and the description promises localized subtitles and professional dubbing, including English and Spanish. Is PineDrama free? What it costs now
PineDrama is free to download and free to start, and US App Store reviewers describe episodes that are already unlocked, with an ad every few episodes. But the free, ad-free app TechCrunch described at launch has changed. Here is what the official listings showed on 8 November 2026:

The Android range comes from PineDrama's Google Play listing, which covers every item TikTok sells in the app rather than one plan. So does PineDrama cost money? Does PineDrama have ads?
Yes. TikTok's own Ads Manager help center lists PineDrama as an ad placement in the United States, Brazil, Mexico, Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand, with ads on the For You feed, the Drama tab feed and between episodes in the drama feed. App Store reviewers describe an ad every few episodes, some skippable after a few seconds, and several say the ads have become more frequent. Oddly, the Google Play listing did not carry Google's "Contains ads" label when we checked on 8 November 2026, but the ads are there. TechCrunch called the app ad-free when it launched in January 2026, so the ads arrived later.
Is PineDrama legit or a scam?
PineDrama is legit. It is TikTok's own app, sold on the App Store by TIKTOK PTE. LTD. and published on Google Play by the same company, listed at 1 Raffles Quay in Singapore. On 8 November 2026 it held 4.9 stars from 134,789 App Store ratings, ranked number 2 in Apple's US Entertainment chart, and had 4.7 stars from about 486,000 ratings and more than 50 million downloads on Google Play. The App Store rates it 13+ and Google Play rates it Teen.
The real risks are lookalikes and data. The website pinedrama.com is not TikTok's app: on 8 November 2026 it was a light-novel reading site. TikTok's official PineDrama site is shortdrama.tiktok.com, and the safe way to install the app is from the App Store or Google Play. PineDrama follows TikTok's privacy policy and uses what you watch to drive its recommendations, so check your privacy settings if that concerns you. Never enter your TikTok login on a site that promises free coins, cash or a modified version of the app.
Is PineDrama an earning app?
No, not in the way "earning app" searches suggest. PineDrama is a streaming app. Its US listings never mention earning money, and its Brazilian and Indonesian Google Play listings describe coins you collect while watching to unlock more episodes, which is a reward for watching rather than an income. A few Brazilian Play reviews mention cashing out small sums, but TikTok makes no earnings promise in its listings. Treat any website, chat group or app that charges a joining fee or asks for your login to "earn with PineDrama" as a scam.
Who owns PineDrama?
TikTok owns and runs PineDrama. The App Store lists the seller as TIKTOK PTE. LTD. and the developer as TikTok Ltd., Google Play lists TIKTOK PTE. LTD., and the Android package name, com.ss.android.ttmd.video, follows the naming used by ByteDance's other apps. TikTok itself is owned by ByteDance. PineDrama's pitch leans on that link: you can sync your TikTok account, keep your watch history, and jump from a clip on TikTok to the full series.

Where PineDrama works, and why there is no Windows app
PineDrama runs on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch with iOS 15 or later, and on Android phones through Google Play. There is no Windows or Mac app in any official store, so a "PineDrama for PC" download is not something TikTok offers; skip third-party installers and APK mirrors. TikTok sells PineDrama ad placements in six markets, the United States, Brazil, Mexico, Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand, so if the app is missing from your store, it may not have reached your country yet.
PineDrama vs ReelShort, DramaBox and DramaWave
The biggest difference is still money. On the US App Store, ReelShort lists a $19.99 subscription and one-time purchases from $4.99 to $29.99, DramaBox lists memberships from $5.99 to $19.99, and DramaWave sells a $19.99 Weekly VIP Membership. PineDrama was the only one of the four whose US App Store page listed no in-app purchases on 8 November 2026, and its reviewers describe watching with ads rather than coins. What PineDrama reviews say
Reviews are strongly positive, with 4.9 stars on the App Store and 4.7 on Google Play. Fans like that episodes play without coin gates, the familiar TikTok-style feed, and the comments under each episode. The complaints are about ads that come more often than they used to, stories that skip scenes or feel stitched together, and some AI-made content. The common thread: PineDrama feels generous next to coin-based rivals, but it is moving toward the same paid model.
History
PineDrama is TikTok's own short-drama app. It first appeared on Google Play on 14 December 2025 and on the App Store on 23 December 2025, and TechCrunch reported on 16 January 2026 that TikTok had quietly released it in the US and Brazil as a free, ad-free app.
